Dan Savage, a University of Illinois alumnus, started the It Gets Better project in hopes of showing LGBT kids that their futures are brighter than their present. Recently, a number of corporations have added videos of their own, in the words of their employees. I’m not usually a believer in the “raising awareness” sort of activism, but I think this issue needs attention from people who otherwise might not have any vested interest in it like myself. Watching these videos reminds me that everyone is inherently good and deserves the respect and admiration of others. I’m amazed that in 2011 there are still a lot of people who think otherwise.
