Jay Leno: Class Act
May 29th, 2009

Just finished watching Jay Leno’s final Tonight Show.  What a classy guy.  It seems that people either love David Letterman or love Jay Leno, but never both.  I think David Letterman is really funny and I enjoy watching him, but I’m a Jay guy myself.  I was in 6th or 7th grade when I first got a TV in my bedroom.  Although I wasn’t supposed to be up at 10:35, I always turned on the TV with the volume very low and would sit close so I could hear what Jay was saying.  At that age, I didn’t understand some of the jokes, but I always knew he was a funny guy.  As I’ve grown older, watching Jay Leno every night became an enjoyable routine.  I’ve come in and out of the show throughout the years, but I always enjoy dropping in on it.

Seeing a nice guy on TV like Jay every night makes him seem almost like a personal friend.  It seems that millions of people feel the same way that I do.  Always a class act, Jay Leno ended his final show by bringing out the children of the show’s staff that were born during the show’s 17 years on air.  Nice moment for a great guy.  Although I will enjoy watching Conan on the new Tonight Show, I am sad Jay is leaving.  I wish him luck on his new show that starts in the fall!
