Waiting For A Miracle
April 6th, 2009

Opening Day 2009.  Oh boy.  As you may remember from last year’s opening day post, I was quite excited.  Unfortunately for me, this year is no different.  I fully expect the Cubs to win the NL Central and ultimately win the World Series.  Ug.  This should be fun.  Things I hope for:

  1. Carlos Zambrano continues being Carlos Zambrano
  2. Something along the lines of this happens/doesn’t happen with Milton Bradley™
  3. The Cubs show up in October
  4. The Reed Johnson/Kosuke Fukudome platoon in center field works out
  5. The pitching rotation performs as it should
  6. The lineup hits as it should
  7. The Cubs show up in October
  8. Alfonso Soriano hits more consistently.  When he’s hot he is deadly, when he’s cold he is the opposite
  9. Derrek Lee, one of my favorite Cubs, pulls together one last productive season
  10. Carlos Marmol/Kevin Gregg – please work
  11. The Cubs show up in October

That’s not asking a lot.  Really.  Go Cubs.
